Hello all, I've got a single vacuum advance distributor with a disconnected uninsulated wire inside. The wire is attached to a square nut that accepts the screw that holds the condenser to the outside of the distributor. I believe the other end of the wire should attach to the breaker plate but I can't tell how it was originally connected. The breaker plate does not look like it would accept solder. How do I reattach the wire? What is the reason for having this wire at all. I assume it's a grounding wire.
