Volks,

A back issue of "VW Trends" had a nice feature on how to restore an old
Fibrit brand VW factory glove compartment box. It involved making up a
paste of sawdust and Elmer's, and it seemed to make a beautiful product.
Right up to the flocking.

I've got a liner that I'm now almost ready to install. But it still needs
to be flocked. I spent the entire day today trying to find a good old
flocking kit -- paint plus a poofgun of those beige polyester fibers to
create the nice velvety flocked interior surface. I tried paint stores
(Porter and Sherwin-Williams), auto supply places (O'Reilly's, AutoZone, Pep
Boys, Advance), craft shops (Hobby Lobby, Plaza Art and Michael's) and a
variety of general merchandise spots (Lowe's, Home Depot, Target) -- and
mostly ended up trying to explain to a bunch of 18 year olds what "flock" is
and how it's applied. I had done this back in high school and know the
process. A guy at an Ace Hardware told me, "I been in this business 39
years and ain't never heard of 'flocking'." Sad, but I believe him.

Does anybody know a good source of supply where I could order a small
quantity of beige-tan flock and adhering paint?
