65 and older=link/king pin. 66 and newer=ball joint. you can use the older 
framehead and beam. the tubes are more than 1" difference between them,that 
is why you would need to change frame head to mount it.

Ill digress a bit but would a 64 framehead be suitable for grafting to a 68 
pan??

   I think the beam mounting points are different? Correct me if wrong 
please.
