They have two models: one for the 009 centrifugal advance distributor
and one for the vacuum advance (OEM) distributor. I don't think it
matters whether it is fuel injected.

Subject: [vintagvw] Compufire ignition (was Carberator)

Hi,

Forgive my ignorance on the subject, but is a Compufire ignition system
compatible with a fuel injected Super Beetle? (Mine is a '79). It
currently has the stock Bosch distributor, but it would be nice to do
away
with the points. What's the downside?

Thanks,
Tony
