Generally speaking, yes. However, I am not overly familiar with Webers, so I do not know if they have bowl drains. They would be subject to the same sort of fouling as other carburetors if not run often with clean fuel. If the Webers do not have bowl drains, you could disconnect the fuel line to them and run them dry. The point is: don't leave fuel standing in the carburetor for long periods.

The water won't stay in the fuel tank (as the outlet is directly on the bottom); however, it will collect in the bowl of your carburetor. Pull the plug from the side of the carburetor bowl and drain it. I suspect other debris has also collected in the bowl. Try flushing it out with some carburetor cleaner. WEAR SAFETY GLASSES when spraying the cleaner. It sounds like you do not drive your vehicle much. If you leave the vehicle sitting for long periods, the fuel in the carburetor will turn to shellac. This will gum up all the tiny passages. If you must let the vehicle sit, drain the carburetor bowl to prevent this. It did this several months ago and as I had a tank of gas in the car that was several months old; the only thing i could think of doing was that to disassemble the carb and clean it; put fresh gas and see if that fixed it. It thankfully did but over the past few days it started again. The gas in the tank was put in in mid-Dec so I don't think it's gone bad. I went ahead last night and filled the tank again but still dying at idle when driving it last night on a 40 mile round trip. This weekend I'll check for vacuum leaks and obvious stuff but I'm getting pretty frustrated. The Bocar 34 Pict 3 carb was new in Dec. 2002 at 100,000 in miles and the car only has 105,000 now so I don't think it's worn throttle bushings or anything and I hate to think I've got a carb passage gunked up already. Up till last week it ran fine. We have had a lot of cold nites recently so i wondered if i didn't get a lot of water condensing in the tank. That's why I filled it up last nite to see if it was lee prone to die at idle. I guess I should try some gas dry or some Techron and see if that helps. It dies at idle even when fully warmed up. Is another new carb in order or a different brand or model of carb? This problem is taking the fun out of driving the vehicle if it won't idle. I plan to check manifold boots and hoses as it almost feels like a vacuum leak but could be carb as well. Any ideas sure would be appreciated.
