I use the blue wire to the gen-light to fire a relay that puts charging voltage on my aux batteries. When the bus is shut down or if the gen/VR goes out the aux batteries drop out of the main circuit.
Right now it's wired direct and all my high amperage stuff (stereo) is wired right to the AUX+ so I'm not too worried about pulling more than 10 or 15 amps through the relay. I need to find a blocking diode to prevent current from flowing from AUX to MAIN if the main somehow gets severely drained. a BIG blocking diode. ;-) G2 On Mon, 15 Feb 2010 07:08:28 -0800 "Sharkeys Garage" <[email protected]> wrote: > Yup, but I've been wanting to use that "tee intersection" analogy > for, like, forever! > > -----Original Message----- > From: [email protected] > [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Gerald > Livingston Sent: February-14-10 8:00 PM > To: [email protected] > Subject: Re: [vintagvw] 67 tail light help > > You do realize that you just described the alternator/generator light > circuit right?
