Sorry for my extremely late response folks.

     Special thanks 
to NQ for this detailed comprehensive step by step write up. I still 
have not got round to replacing the axle. Shall do at first opportunity.
 This bunch of instructions shall help me tremendously. 

     
Have been busy with work and a lot of other stuff. The local old cars 
club is holding a cross country rally starting on the 4th of Nov. I 
shall be hitching a ride to the first (or maybe second if we leave 
Karachi early) city to get a flavor of things. Shall post a link of that
 even once it completes on the 13-14th of Nov.
