The last piece of my disk-brake conversion kit for my 1970 beetle arrived today from Mid America Motorworks - almost exactly 6 months to the day after I ordered the conversion kit. It purported to be a "remanufactured" left spindle, though unlike the right spindle shipped earlier, it was drilled and tapped in only 2 of the 3 mounting holes for the dust shield; it had surfaces that were cast, not machined; and it was distinctly rougher than its right-side mate. It did carry the VW and Audi logos but showed no signs of remanufacture. And it looked too rough to be original.
Question: does anybody have experience with the MAM disk-brake conversion kit? Any quality issues? I'm hoping it's better than their shipping capability.
