Perhaps the new electrical switch is not made well/not on center and is causing binding when attached to the lock portion. Do you still have the old electrical portion just to try it for alignment purposes?

When I just have the lock cylinder in hand and insert the key and turn no sticking or binding is felt on turning or insertion or removal. But when all 3 parts are assembled, such sites not stay car nor does steering wheel lock engage when key is removed. It works perfectly when electrical switch is not piggy backed on rear of lock housing. I just wonder if some component inside the lock housing is worn that is causing the problems. I put a little light lubricant in there but no luck. I'm stumped. Mike On Nov 17, 2013 12:06 PM, <[email protected]> wrote: Did you try dry graphite powder? I think I'm just going to buy a new one if I can find one. Has anyone ever bought this part and if so where? Checked Mid America Motorworks but they don't show it for sale. Thanks. I just have to figure my ignition problems have to be with that as the lock cylinder itself and the electrical switch are both new but the lock housing is 40+ years old. Thanks.
