Sorry for what is probably a silly question, but how do I get Ariadne to
tell me what street I'm on? I can tap around the screen to see several
streets but am not sure how to reliably tell where I actually am if I don't
know already.

Hi Damon. I think a good app to do this is Ariadne GPS. The cost is around
$2.99 USD. It will tell you what street you are on and the approximate
address number and the direction you are traveling.
