Hi,
It was very helpful, and more or less what i thought. I think though that in the classic version of MyWay you can use OpenStreetMap to plan your routs, but this, judging by the experience i had using Voxtrek is very iffy at best here in Sweden.
Thanks a lot for the explanation.

Hello Krister,

Ariadne tells you where you are, and if you select "Start monitoring", it updates you on your position as you walk. It also tells you as you approach a favourite, but it doesn't tell you how to get to that favourite.

MyWay Classic allows you to plan routes, including along paths that are not shown on maps. So, if your route includes crossing a park or going through a wood, MyWay will help you keep to your route, but you do have to plot it yourself in the first place.

Navigon gives you turn-by-turn directions on routes shown on maps. It runs in the background, making it possible to have Ariadne running in the foreground.

So, if the area you're moving to is properly mapped by Navigon, you won't need MyWay.

I hope this is a clear explanation of the differences between these apps.

Cheers,

Anne

Hi,
But have i misunderstood anything here? As i understood it, Myway only saves favorites or pois that you do yourself and then guides you to them, much as Ariadne does or am i incorrect there? I got the feeling they were both quite similar? Aren't you referring to IWay which was a gps solution discussed a little while back that people said was no good? And if not, what is the point with MyWay when we have Navigon that works just as well?
