Hi Scott, that is an interesting point. We have some automatic detection logic where the software determines when it thinks there is a problem and turns the flash on (provided, of course, that it is on a device with a flash), but we don't give an option for the user of the software to make that determination and to override the logic in the program.
I guess this brings up a couple of issues: a) have you had scans fail for insufficient light on a device where there is a flash? b) can you tell us a bit more about the experience and how the software could have handled it better? I'm not positive this is a topic of interest to everyone on the board; if you think it is not, I'm the person reading support this weekend, so you can send commentary to [email protected] or me personally (nmiracle at the same address) I'd love to hear more about this!
