I really like the ability to configure what is in the notification center and what is not. You can turn a whole range of apps on and off in settings/notifications, and set whether you get an alert, a banner, and/or just a sound. Likewise, if you install an app and aren't getting alerts or notifications from it, look in settings/notifications and make sure it is turned on in the notification center. It can be a great way of controlling apps that may constantly send notifications that you don't want to see.
