Hello, Yes. You need to do something. in iTunes on your computer, find the audiobooks and press control I if using a windows PC or, command I if using a Mac. This opens the get info dialog. From here, select the "Options" tab. Under this tab, select audiobook from the media kind dropdown list. You would do the same if you wanted an mp3 to be treated as a podcast.
