Thank you, Anna. I knew I was missing something and just couldn't find it.

Hi patti,
In iOS 8, you control the grade of braille that appears on your display
separately from the grade of braille in which you input text. G-chord changes
how braille will appear on your display. To change braille input, press dots
2-3-6-chord to toggle between contracted, 6-dot, and 8-dot (computer) braille.

I am sorry, I know I must be dense; but I have not had the 8.0 plus update on
my phone but a couple months since I thought with a 4s it wasn't a good plan to
update but it is okay, except for the braille thing. I have tried the G chord
and changing things, nothing works. I turned quick nav on and saw the symbols
but then they disappeared and are not in the address.
I have looked on Apple vis, read about braille commands and I am just not
getting anywhere. My focus is an older model, not the 14. Would this effect
things?
I don't understand since before the update ing I had no issues putting in an
email address. What is this quick nav thing, and am I suppose to be dealing
with input rather than output? I am so embarrassed to be so stupid; I worked on
this a couple hours yesterday and just couldn't think straight any more.
I have tried all the different dot methods; but why do the symbols not show up,
or rather, disappear?
If you want to write me privately so as not to clutter the list please do.
Thanks,

Hi Patti,
You have a couple of options. If you are writing in 8-dot braille, i.e.
computer braille, use dot 4 for at and dots 4-6 for period. If you’re writing
in contracted US braille, type dot 4 before each of those symbols; so at sign
is dot 4 twice, and period is dot 4 followed by dots 4-6. If you’re typing in
UEB, use dot 4 followed by dot 1 for at sign, and dots 2-5-6 for period.

I have the latest update, on a 4s Iphone. am trying to sign into my amazon
account on my phone, and I cannot seem to put in the At or the Dot symbols, in
the email address, I see it then it disappears, and I am repeatedly asked to
enter the address again.
I am using an older focus 40 display, if that makes any difference. I have
tried everything I can think of and it just isn't working for me. What am I
missing?
Thanks,
Patti
