Hello Vicky,
Whenever you purchase one of our bundles, (the case and screen protector
together,) you receive, (in the case of the Impact,) the case, as well as
the screen protector and cleaning cloth. This is because the Impact case
does not have a built-in screen protector like the Defender.
Whenever you purchase the Defender bundle from us, however, we cut the
screen protector to fit over the top of the case that you purchased, to
insure a perfect fit, and then send it to you; so there's no need to apply
the protector.
If you give your phone to someone, and they want to use that Defender case
without the embossed dots, they can easily remove the tactile protector and
have the normal OtterBox built-in screen protector.
The only thing I will warn you of, is that whoever removes it needs to be
extra careful when doing so. Because we cut them to fit exactly, there's
generally a tight fit around the corners. As long as you or someone else
does not try to take a knife to it to lift up a corner of the tactile
protector and damage the built-in plastic of the OtterBox, there's no reason
why it cannot be reused by whoever gets your phone.

I hope this explanation makes sense. *smile*
Please let me know if you have anymore questions.

Subject: RE: Otterbox Impact Case and SpeedDots Screen Protector

Hi Amy,

I'm not complaining here, as I'm quite happy with my purchase,
and expect to buy from SpeedDots again when the new iPhone is
released. But, I was looking to figure out the differences
between the various Otterbox cases, just for curiosity, as I've
had the Defender case for sometime now and now the Impact with
the SpeedDodts screen protector. Anyway, when looking at the
description for the Impact case, it seemed to indicate that it
came with a screen protector and cleaning cloth. Thus, am I
correct in assuming that the said screen protector and cloth are
the ones shipped when we order the combo case and protector from
SpeedDots, whereas one just ordering the protector from SpeedDots
and the Otterbox case elsewhere would get the ones from Otterbox,
as well as the ones from Speeddots? Again, not complaining, and
the price I paid for my purchase was quite reasonable. But, I'm
more trying to figure out things, as I quite often give my
current iPhone to a sighted family member when I upgrade to the
newest model. And, I'm thinking they might not want a protector
with the dots on it.

Hello, Rob.
Between models for iPad, iPhone, and iPod, we've tried about 20
different
brands of clear plastic screen protectors from different vendors.
These are just your standard screen protector; no different than
what a
sighted person would apply over their screen.
We are always looking for ways that our product can be improved;
making
application easier for those who are blind/visually impaired. If
you have
found a screen protector brand or design that is easier to apply,
please
feel free to contact us at SpeedDots. We take all of those
requests very
seriously, and research everything.

Take care.

I still think it a slight design flaw that alligning them is
still such a
fiddle. I know some don't think so, but a good many do.

Subject: Otterbox Impact Case and SpeedDots Screen Protector

I've had my Otterbox Impact Case with the SpeedDots Screen
Protector for a few weeks now. And, although I'm quite happy
with my purchase, I do have some questions.

First, I just kind of guessed and put the iPhone in the Impact
case, as I wasn't sure of the correct way. But, it kind of
looked like to me that the bottom part of the case where the
charger and speaker and the like are is the part of the phone
that goes in the case first, and then one pulls the top part of
the case over the top part of the phone. Is this the correct
way; or, does it even make a difference?

Second, when I kind of slowly run my finger over the keyboard,
say in a practice note, when I touch where each dot is, the
proper letter for that dot is spoken. However, once I start
trying to type a bit faster, when I hit the dot say for the N the
letter M might be spoken, or the letter P might be announced when
I hit the letter O. But, if I then tap that dot again, the
correct letter is then stated. I'm thinking this might be
correct behavior, as the dots are smaller than the space allotted
for each letter, although it has also occurred to me that I may
have put the screen protector with the dots on it on the phone
just a tad incorrectly. Thus, clarification on this would be
appreciated. And, as I'm in Kentucky visiting my family all this
week, I would have ready access to sighted assistance if needed.
