Hello Destene, At present, I do not believe that Apple Maps will automatically announce intersections. At one point, I would have gone so far as to state that such a feature is not likely to be forth coming but, after several discussions I had with others, Apple may, at some point, add such functionality.
I use the Seeing Eye GPS app in order to hear automatic intersection announcements.
