Well folks,
It looks like my phone is dead. I tried several times to get it to restart, but
every time, I get to that screen where it wants my passcode, because I have
touch ID to unlock the phone. And I can't enter a passcode, because none of my
gestures are seen, and voice over doesn't speak. It's like the screen is dead,
although the phone talks and the buttons work. I have a friend who had
something similar happen, and he has a 5S. In his case, after nothing was
working, voiceover wasn't talking, screen seemed dead etc, he did the force
restart. After that, voiceover came back. But for me, no such luck. I wonder
how common this is. The folks at the store just said it's a dead phone. But I
wonder. Is it some kind of weird interaction between iOS nine and VoiceOver?
Has anybody heard of this happening to others, with or without voiceover? And
while I'm at it, why don't earth does Apple want your pass code once you
restart your phone and want to use touch ID? I mean, it's not like somebody can
rip your finger off and use it and not have to know your passcode. It seems
stupid. What am I missing?
Mary
