Thanks for that tip. I had never heard of DFU mode. But I remembered that I have a keyboard which connects via a lightning connector. I use it with my iPad. So I connected to the phone, type in my passcode, got into the phone and discovered that the screen is still dead. So, I think this phone truly is going to go back and be replaced under warranty. Kind of a pain. But thank God for warranties. Mary
