Please beware that when you set up an account to be accessed in the
described manner, if your phone is not protected with a pass code or touch
ID, this account information will be accessible if your phone is lost or
stolen. But more importantly, this information can be gotten by anybody who
knows how to access your phone, such as that overly curious family member.
Please be careful.

Subject: RE: Automatically entering extra numbers when making a phone call
I just tested this on my work number where I have to dial in a code to check
my voice mail remotely.
The semicolon does nothing.
I've only ever had luck using commas to put in pauses and having to
experiment to see how many pauses I needed to delay the number entry until
the system is ready for the next set of numbers.
VoiceOver doesn't use the labels referred to in that article.
To get to the extra punctuation, you hit the shift key which is in the lower
left corner of the keypad when editing or adding a number in contacts.
After you press shift, pause, is the comma, which is in the spot the 4 wold
be and semicolon is in the spot wehre the 6 would be. The Star is where the
7 would be and the pound is where the 9 would be and the plus is where the 0
would be.
After each comma or whatever you enter, you have to hit shift again to add
another, and so on.
HTH,
Richard

I haven't done this in a while, and I'm not sure how to test it at the
moment, but there should be a button in the lower left corner of the
screen that will end the wait and dial the remaining numbers. Here's a
page that describes the situation:

When on a call, how do you get the numbers following the semicolon to

When entering a number into a contact, the star or * key becomes a shift
key. Double tapping the shift key will let you enter a comma where the 4
key would be and a semicolon where the 6 key would be. You can also enter
a * where the 7 key is normally located and a # where you'd find the 9
key.

If I understand what you're looking for, I think you want a comma to
give you a pause between entering numbers. The more commas the longer
the pause. A semicolon will throw up a dialogue for you to double tap on
when you want to enter the next set of numbers.

Greetings. Can someone refresh me on how to automatically enter extra
numbers when making a phone call, such as when entering numbers in an
automated phone system? I know that I can use commas to separate each
menu choice, but I recall hearing a way to enter a group of numbers at
once with the pound key, and then double tapping to enter the next
group of numbers. I am training a couple of students on how to do this
and want to make sure I've got my information right. The extra numbers
would be added onto the end of a phone number in the contacts. I use
this method to enter account numbers for my bank and credit card but
want a refresher on the process.
Thanks,
Wayne Merritt
