Though HIMS Tech support is getting kind of unreliable, I'd say it's a
toss-up between the Edge and the Varioultra. It really depends on your
specific situation as to which will be best for you, given that the VU
costs more. From using both devices, I can tell you the VU doesn't
have as much battery life as the Edge, but the VU does have more
internal capabilities than the Edge, including support for thumb
drives. The Edge supports SD cards, whereas, the VU does not. The VU
supports PDF files and xls files, the Edge does not. I would also
agree with Carl re the case, you would want the EP case for the Edge,
but the VU comes with a decent one. The Edge also doesn't support the
ability to connect to multiple devices and then switch among them, but
the VU does. I, personally, like the lay-out of the Edge keyboard
more, and find it to have better support on Windows than the VU, but
the keyboard lay-out is certainly a personal preference. The VU is a
bit more compact than the Edge, I'd speculate the compromise is the
aforementioned battery life. Both seem to work fine under iOS.
