So. I set a calendar item for 7:00 this evening both on my iPhone
calendar and on Fantastical. and neither one notified me.
The phone was supposed to notify me an hour in advance.
How do I make notifications happen?

I find it better to use for many reasons. It draws all your
appointments from the native iPhone app so if you set an appointment
with Siri, it shows up in Fantastical.
But, the biggest advantage is that I like the way it displays your
appointments better and if you write a logical sentence in the
create an event field, it puts the information in correctly.
Something like:
Dr. Jones on September 9 at 10:00 AM
Or,
Book club on the second Friday of every month at 7:00 PM.
