If you check out the 6S specifications at http://www.apple.com/iphone-6s/specs/ and the iPhone 7 specs at http://www.apple.com/iphone-7/specs/ you'll see that the the 7/7+ phones are the same size as the 6S/6S+, namely 4.7 inches and 5.5 inches respectively. The SE has a 4 inch screen as you can see at http://www.apple.com/iphone-se/specs/

I don't think the fact that the home button is now a virtual button and not a physical button actually creates any more screen real estate. It still needs to be there at the bottom of the screen.

I'm not sure what the subject line means since I haven't been following this thread and I don't see the whole thread below, but devices will keep increasing in size as long as that's what the customers want.

Did I understand correctly that the iPhone 7 has been made smaller, more
like an iPhone 5/5S vs. the iPhone 6/6S?

And if this indeed be the case (shrinkage of iPhone 7) might not this be
the rationale Apple considered in eliminating the 3.5 MM audio jack?
This seems to follow as the “Physical Home Button” has likewise been
eliminated; this design allowing for a larger viewing screen while
allowing for the overall size of the iPhone to be reduced?

Just a thought!
