A few tips that might help you get started are to use a two finger flick up. This will start reading from the top of the screen. Once VoiceOver starts reading you can flick left or right with one finger to move from object to object on the screen. You can also explore the screen by just moving your finger around on the screen. There will be some apps where you'll just start to recognize that certain buttons always appear in the same place, so you'll be able to find them easier in the future. Another thing which threw me for a long time, is that once VoiceOver announces an object, you can double tap anywhere on the screen to activate it. You don't have to double tap right on the icon itself.

Hello Nancy,

This is a matter of personal opinion, of course, but I strongly suggest that
you not place any tactile markings on the display.

Just give yourself time to acclimate to the new interface.

Thinking back, I believe it took me over two weeks in order to begin to start
feeling comfortable with the iPhone interface.

Be patient with yourself and do not measure your progress against that of
anyone.

Just don't give up and don't give in and, in time, it will get easier. To paraphrase one
of the greatest warriors in history, Musashi Miyamoto, "Everything is difficult at
first."

Subject: IPhone SE question

I just got my first cell phone without buttons...the IPhone SE.

It left the store wrapped up in an Otterbox Defender case and a tempered glass
screen protector.

At this point, I am just trying to learn how to make and answer calls.
My finger is dancing all over the screen. If I had a adhesive Braille Dot put
on the screen so I would know where to tap, would that work? Or would it cause
Siri and VO anguish having a dot on the screen all the time?I just have no idea
how sensitive the screen is.

Thank you so much.
Nancy
