I live in the US. The people I know who travel to Europe say it is much more cost effective to buy a simm card in Europe, so I suspect that will be the case for him coming here. tMobile, and Consumer Cellular have good plans that do not require a contract. I do not know about prepaid cards where you by x minutes and Data and use it until it is gone and then reload the card. I'm sure others have information. I hope all goes well for him in his new job.
