Hi Jennifer,

Hopefully I won't burst your bubble, but while I love gadgets I decided to stay
away from the Airpods at this point because of two main reasons:

1. I have an Apple Watch and apparently while you can pair them with an iPhone
and an Apple Watch, they do not switch seamlessly between these devices. My
Plantronics Voyager Edge when it's paried to both my phone and my Apple Watch
will do this. I can be listening to an audio book on my phone and if a
notification on my watch comes in the book pauses, the notification sound is
heard and then the book restarts.
2. Lack of control. All you can do it bring up SIRI by tapping the Airpods. If
you want to change volume you either have to tap and tell SIRI to increase or
decrease volume which interrupts what's playing, volume is adjusted, then the
stream restarts and depending if you wan to increase/decrease the volume more
you have to repeat several times or you still have to pull out your phone to
adjust it on the phone. This is hardly the handsfree future Apple has announced
when they "had the courage" to get rid of the 3.5mm headphone jack. Maybe
somebody who already has them can confirm or not whether while a call is coming
in you can tap to answer and whether during a call you can tap to hang up. I
really hope that at least that functionality is there, but for the high price I
think they are not yet worth it. I am pretty sure that this fall there will be
the Airpod series 2 and it wouldn't surprise me if it had all sorts of touch
controls on it. Oh well, at least I assume you have Apple's 30-day satisfaction
guaranty. I'm actually almost tempted to order them and return them just to
have a chance to try them out and to let Apple know that this is a product
which is not worthy of my satisfaction yet.
By the way, how do they do this in the store with respect to trying them? You
said you were able to try them at an Apple Store, do they have some sort of
disposable cover or do you get to try them after a couple of hundred people
before you have stuck them in their ears and left their earwax on them?

Regards,
Sieghard

Subject: Ordered my airpods!

Hi all.
So I went to the apple store last sunday and ordered my new airpods after
listening to them in the store. The only thing I don't like is that I have to
wait 6 weeks to get them! Lol.
My only question is... how do you answer or hang up a call? If you double tap
on the headphone won't that tell seri you want to talk to her? Also... am I
correct in saying that the pods have to be in the case to pair them?
I'm trying to patiently wait for them!
Jen
