So it looks like the crackling sound appears when there's multiple tasks
for the sound chip to perform. For example playing games with music in
the background and the game changing and playing different sounds.
Definitely sounds like a hardware issue to me as well. the only other
phone that I've seen do something similar to this would be the Motorola
Nexus 6. I just wonder if this crackling can be duplicated with all
iPhone 8 models?

I was just on the phone with Dell pro support via way of my iPhone.
This time, I could definitely hear crackling noises coming from
the earpiece of the device.
My iPad pro also seems to exhibit this alarming behavior.
I am going to run the iOS diagnostic software from Apple's express
support channel but it's looking like a hardware issue contrary to
what I posted earlier.

I’ve been seeing similar behavior on my iPhone 7 and was concerned
that my speaker was going. So this may indeed be a software issue.

Has anyone else experienced the problem? My bet is that it is
a software problem, but if it is the hardware, then a trip to
