first thing, is get a swimming tracker app, there are a few about. I have so far found however, that mine has done very poorly at getting the distance right, no matter which app I try. this is very possibly because I do exclusively open water rather than pool swimming though, and a number of the apps do ask about pool length, so you may find that they work better for you. hope this is of some help.
