Have you set it to "English" rather than "British English" in "Settings", "General", "International" and "Language?
If that doesn't work the only other way would be to change your region to United States or Canada, this is also in the "International" settings. Keep in mind that this will change the date format to the north American way, e.g. October 1, 2012. Another thing I have found out about IOS6 is that I like the Australian voice but every time I turhn my phone off then switch it back on, it always goes back to Daniel the British voice.
