I have them all, but I prefer Nearby explorer from APH. For one thing,
the maps are downloaded to your device, so you can still use it even if
you lose internet connectivity. The screens are configurable, so you can
display only the kinds of info that you need. For a one time payment of
$79, I think it is well worth the money, and at least so far, APH has not
charged for updates. Also, there is an Email list where you can get good
support and APH staff monitor and participate on the list.

GPS app--not sure what the proper name is for it; I had a Trekker till
2010.
What are y'all using? Why did you choose that particular app over its
competition Does it need a data plan to function outside the reach of
WiFi (newbie's still getting used to the difference between iPhone and
iPodTouch.)?
