Actually what I'm trying to talk her into is to borrow an iPhone or iPad and play around with each of them to find out what level of difficulty she might have with either device. Going by what anyone suggests will not be good since only she knows the amount of dexterity she has and by actual useage she can determine which device puts the least amount of stress on her hands / fingers. She will also need to determine if the braces she wears on each thumb will hinder her in any way with gestures.
