Janet,
Did you remember to double tap with three fingers to bring the voice back,
in case you turned it off with your first double tap?
Your original message said you did a three finger double tap to see if you
turned the Voiceover speech off, but you never said if you did it again,
just in case you didn't.
In other words, if it was a volume issue, and you turned the Voiceover
speech off when you did the three finger double tap, if you didn't turn the
speech on again with the same three finger double tap, then the volume keys
will not work.
If you did perform the three finger double tap, then disregard my message,
but if you did not, then try the three finger double tap, then try my
solution, or, the other solution of using Siri to raise the volume like the
other person suggested, it may help.

Do a two finger flick up so Voiceover reads out the whole page, then press
the volume up key several times until Voiceover comes on at the desired
volume.

Hi Everyone,
My xr phone was working an hour ago, but as I just turned it on, there is no
sound at all coming from the phone! I've tried everything I know to try to
get voice over to talk, but no go! I tried the three finger double tap just
in case I might have muted it without knowing, but still that didn't work.
I tried two finger double tap, but still no go! I tried pressing the side
power button three times, but still no go! I can't even get Siri to respond
by pressing the side button! I don't have the hey Siri feature turned on.
The phone appears to be completely dead! Although, I did get a phone call,
and the phone did ring, but when I tried to answer it, it stopped ringing, I
did get an alert because whoever they were they left a message. Any
suggestions please!
