Dear Joe: Did you know that Ontario Hwy. 11 crosses the international bridge between Fort? Francis, Ontario and becomes Min. Rt. 11. In (Ontario, for much of its length, the Hwy. is known as Yonge St. Eventually it ends in a Minnesota corn field. Heard the guard at International Harvester one New Year’s Eve put a local radio station on the factory p/za system. He happened to be in the boiler room, had a few too many scotches. Wanted to celebrate and tell everyone he was celebrating. Just as the announcer said happy New Year. He pulled the rope to blow the factory whistle, like for a mew shift to start. People all over the twin cities heard the whistle blow to start a new shift and figured Harvester was celebrating too. Meanwhile in the factory, dozens oh phantom workers clocked in and the line started up, building phantom tractors, combines and trucks. Hear they still signal the start of the Overnight shift New Year’s Eve. Had a call at work one day from International paper ibn International Falls. They said their bridge is a great source of income. Brian K. I’m starting from just outside Duluth. We are thinking maybe 400 miles a day so that would be 4 nights with 5 days of driving. If we need an extra day it won’t matter. We don’t have to be back ‘til April. Thanks, Joe From: [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> <[email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> > On Behalf Of Brian K. Duluth or Frostbite Falls across from Fort Francis, Ontario? Brian K. Lingard From: [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> <[email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> > On Behalf of Brian K. Marathon driving is OK for kids, not for people your age. Figure how far you want to drive then look for a good hotel you will reach around 3 PM which is when they start checking-in. Have a shampoo, shower, and relax before supper. Or have a swim in the pool. Or a haircut or massage. Sitting in a car is tiring. If the car needs repairs, you may be able to get the dealer started on the work that afternoon, if they have a night shift, they may be finished by morning. Brian K. I’m looking for recommendations on an accessible hotel booking app. I’m totally blind if that matters. I’m using an iPhone 8. We are thinking we’ll just try to find a room when my wife gets tired of driving. This is our first attempt at the snow bird thing. We already have housing arranged in Tucson but nothing for the road trip. Thanks for any help, Joe
