My phone battery drained rapidly for about 3 or 4 days after the last update. Now it is fine. As for the Siri sounds, check that you didn't turn off sounds in VoiceOver settings, or call Apple Accessibility and see what they say. The Siri sounds never went away for me.

I know there are lots of people who do not believe that saves battery, but since lowering the brightness is said by Apple, will use less battery, logic would say if the brightness is at 0, that will use the least amount of battery for the screen. And, if you did an update recently, it can take several days before it is done indexing everything. There may be more things, but that is what comes to mind.
