Hi, Are they play 1 or sonos 1 devices?
Only the sonos 1 or the latest of the sonos speakers have alexa built in, So the play 1 and play 3& 5 don’t have alexa built in. I did wonder if the amazon echo devices would allow you to use the sonos play devices by alexa, but I’ve never been able to get it to work or figure it out. So if your smaller speakers are sonos 1 then alexa will work for you. Play 3 I don’t believe will. I was looking for a Kindle book on Amazon site and came across a link for my connections. Then there was an option to connect Sonos and it worked, so I am not sure why it did not work via the app on my iPhone. I still have a strange issue. My Sonos One and two Sonos Play3 speakers are setup in the same group so that when streaming from my iPhone all will play. But the moment I ask Alexa to play music only the Play One plays. When I then look at the Room Settings on my PC or in the iPhone Sonos app the Play3 speakers are unselected. I can not understand why this happens when I play via Alexa. One limitation is that you can't use features like Drop-In which you can do between actual Echo speakers.
