A 15 Watt wireless charger will be faster as long as it supports Apple's 7.5 Watt standard which is different from the fast charging standard used by Android devices which is I believe using 10 Watts. I think if and when my wife and I buy our next iPhones which will probably be one of the iPhone 14 phones in 2022 I would probably buy new mag safe wireless chargers as well in order to take advantage of the newer and higher capacity fast charging these will have, but I would buy it also because I do often listen to a book using wired earpods in the evening when my phone is lying on the charging pad and it's very easy to pull a bit on the headset and to pull it just enough so it doesn't charge any more. I really like the idea of the phone snapping in place and aligning itself using the magnets. I am curious to hear how stron gthose magnets are, e.g. would you actually be able to say stick the iPhone on a fridge and it would stay there?

Will older charging units, wireless, still work, or does one need to purchase a mag safe charger to get wireless charging? Wow, Joshua, does the 15 charge pretty fast? I have two 5's, and they are slow. My husband and I thought that day in and day slow could be better than faster for my 11. -----Original Message----- From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Joshua Hendrickson Sent: Sunday, October 25, 2020 6:16 PM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: mag safe on new iPhones. I'm not positive, but I'd be very surprised if older wireless charging pads didn't work with the newer iPhones. I've got a wireless charger that is a 15 watt charger and I'm pretty sure it would work with the newer iPhones. Good luck.
