Mine works about 90% of the time. I hold my phone like I'm on a Facetime or other video call. I do have issues with turning my head the right way when approving app downloads or purchases. I usually will rotate my face around until I hear the ding to approve the purchase/download. Perhaps an SE phone would work better for you. It sounds like you're still in the first 30 day period.
