Hi Malcolm, I'm not normally a fan of insurance for electronics but I make the exception with Apple Care Plus for my iPhones. Since the iPhone is pricey and since I'm carrying it around with me and often using it around potential hazards like open toilets, I've decided to pony up for Apple Care Plus whenever I purchase a new iPhone. I'll have to price its cost when I get my next new iPhone since I haven't used Apple Care to replace a phone since my iPhone 5's headphone jack died.
