It did not work for us we tried that. Even the Apple support person told us it was not showing up to him when he did the screen share and we turned off voice over.

In other words, the screen wasn’t blank to a sighted user, and voiceOver’s screen curtain wasn’t turned on. It’s true that I couldn’t turn off screen recognition while I was in the NBA app but I could do it when in the App Switcher, as Donna has pointed out.
