Hi Vivian, You didn’t need the reader at all. I don’t know how you might get the device to change from the reader to the app on your phone. I have used the libre with my phone, but 10 R. I’m not diabetic, so I only use the continuous glucose monitor every so often, just to keep tabs on things. It works real well, at least it did the last time I used it. But as I say, I do not know if it is possible to switch your sensor over to the phone from the reader. Just don’t use the reader again. It was an unnecessary expense that they should not have sold you.
