I have a fourth generation Echo that I bought on sale for $60 that was originally $100. It has very nice sound. I often use it with my iPhone to listen to music from my phone and to stream audio dramas from my phone. I have also streamed bard books from bard mobile through my echo via my phone and they also sound very good. The echo fourth generation can get quite loud as well.
