If it is only 5 days old, you clearly have grounds to ask for a replacement.
Or just return it for a refund, then order another one, 😊.

You are exactly right. It’s everybody’s fault but either company. The mini is 
only five days old. I think I am going to ask for a replacement. i’m wondering 
whether there isn’t something wrong with the chip. Because why wouldn’t AirDrop 
work? Maybe it doesn’t have anything to do with that and I’m wrong. However, I 
was very specific and following the instructions.
