Personally, I feel that $5 a month for everything you can squeeze onto as many 
internal drives as you can fit in your machine is very, very good value indeed.

Myself I do not use external drives, I do have a NAS which contains my movies 
etc, but I just have that set to double disk redundancy and prey it never 
catches fire etc. It cannot be stolen at all easily as it is in a secure 
location.
