You'll get the most if you were to sell your iPhone 12 privately. If you do buy a 14 series phone I would only consider the iPhone 14 Pro, otherwise you may as well buy an iPhone 13 or 13 Pro which you probably can find good deals for since the regular iPhone 14 has the same chip as the iPhone 13/13 Pro. Only the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max got the new A16 chip and, as Richard said, have the liDAR hardware.
