Amazon in America does have at least one blind person that I read an article about.  Don't know about other countries.  Also it may depend on what position you are applying for.  The person I read about works in a position where he is making their products more accessible to people with all kinds of disabilities.  So they are willing to employ a blind person in that type of job but I don't know how they feel about their other positions.  Sometimes I have seen companies who are willing to employ blind people in something like an accessibility related job but it doesn't always extend to their other jobs and sometimes the discrimination is really subtle and difficult to prove.  But I know I have gone through much rejection by employers and did eventually get jobs but sometimes you have to experience a lot of rejection before you land a job. It can be very difficult and discouraging.  I know someone that lost a job and went for seven years without getting another and with going through tons of sending out resumes and applying for jobs and this person was very educated and capable and had worked successfully as a blind person and after seven years he did find a job where he is happy and happens to also be making quite a bit of money.  Obviously it doesn't work to that degree for everyone.  I don't make the kind of money he does and I'm only working very part-time.  So every case will be different.  I hope though that you will keep trying to find a job and if you want to work at amazon I'd say go for it and see what happens.  You might get more rejection but you'll never know if you don't try and even if they have rejected people in the past there might be a new person working there now that does things ddifferently.  It's very tempting to give up.  I have had times when I did.  But I hope you will be able to have the strength to keep trying.

Hi,

Does Amazon employ blind people?

I saw a job in Israel, and applied, but I had a negative past with so many companies, according to my blindness, so, I don’t know…

Many companies just rejected me because of my disability.

Thanks much,

Afik
