Lelia.  I'm with Verizon and I never got both my iPhones from them.
I'd just go on the apple website and order your iPhone from there.
That's how I got my current iPhone and it was super easy.  I just
chose my phone and made sure it was unlocked to be used with any
carrier.  I then chose my apple+ plan and once I had the money, used
my credit card to pay for it.  Very easy, no fuss and my phone arrived
at my house in two days.  You could also call apple accessibility and
be transferred to someone in the correct department who could place a
phone order for you.  Again, no problems.  You don't need to go
through Verizon itself to get your new iPhone.
