If so you should probably first turn off the attention aware feature. Apart from that it would probably be easier if a sighted person can help you trouble shoot since it is possible you just hold the phone too close or maybe you hold it on a bit of an angle and the camera doesn't see your face properly. I went to this phone from the SE3. I can do all of the gestures such as finding the app switcher and closing apps, etc. The only thing I cannot do is have the phone accept my facial ID which I had someone help me set up. Does anyone have any suggestions to make this work because I do not want to go back to the SE3. I’m even learning to use the power button rather than using a home button.
