Hi all, Here is how I do it. It may sound a little bit different than what others have said.
I started by holding the phone right up to and touching my face. i had the middle of it right on my face. I then slowly backed the phone away and it then unlocked after a while. Now I hold it so that my elbow is barely bent and the phone is up toward my face still. I also hold the phone in portrait mode. Hope this helps a little bit.
