Paula,

I'm sorry if a factory reset is the only thing to get your iPhone talking again. Did you ever call Apple Accessibility and ask them to connect to your device to help with this issue. One time they helped me when VoiceOver volume got set to 0 when I was switching between the iPhone's external speaker and a connected Bluetooth speaker. This is one reason why I recommend that everyone keep a pair of wired Apple Earpods to connect when there are problems with VoiceOver or other audio issues.

You've stated that you've done everything suggested in this thread to no avail so I hope a factory reset makes things right.

Hi Richard. Thanks for your reply.

I have tried what you suggested. I think the only thing left to do is factory reset the phone.

Best wishes

Skipping the Android reference, if the VoiceOver sounds are playing, either speech is muted which can be unmuted with a three finger double tap; or the volume got turned down too low. To check the volume, Flick up with two fingers which will start reading at the top of the screen, and immediately start tapping the volume up button. If that is the problem, the voice will slowly become audible.

First this isn’t an android list.    Second I would just switch back to iOS.  You wouldn’t have this problem on iOS.  You can attempt contacting Google accessibility but if you have the experience Jonathan Mosen and others who called his show have had good luck.
