Thank you. That was one of my first attempts. This did not resolve the
problem.
By the way, activating Siri was tricky. It was necessary to unlock the
phone for Siri voice commands to work. Eventually, with briefly available
sighted help, I entered my ID code and Siri functioned.

Have you tried to restart your iPhone? If Siri works and you can give
commands, just say “Restart my iPhone”, Siri will ask if you want to do this,
say Yes and your phone will reboot.

If anyone has a solution to what I describe below, I will appreciate
your help.
This evening VoiceOver stopped speaking on my iPhone 15 Pro.
* I hear the VoiceOver clicks and other sounds when I swipe up to
activate the phone, but no speech.
* I hear the VoiceOver clicks and other sounds when I swipe left
and right, but no speech.
* I’ve turned the volume up high; the VoiceOver sounds get
louder, but no speech.
* A three finger double tap does not bring up speech as it should.
* I have attempted to use the voice command, “Siri, turn speech
on,” or “Siri, turn speech off.” Neither will voice.
* I have checked for Bluetooth devices that might be connected,
but all are turned off. Also, if this were a Bluetooth conflict, I don’t think
I would be hearing the VoiceOver sounds.
